Thanks to Nicola for my first experience being a participant. She was able to quickly identify any areas to work on, and in my horse particually she tends to lean in and sometimes become 'Bargy' at times. We focussed on shoulder outs and trying to make my horse aware of personal space and her body. The next day Ive already been putting my learning into practice and have done afew shoulder outs in the field, so definately going to incorporate into our routine. Thanks again for your patience and clear explanations/instructions. It was helpful to see you do the movements and then give me tips on how to do them myself. Also I liked that Nicola took her time and picked up on how my hprse was feeling and noticing any anxiety and adjusting accordingly. Great session and thanks again. Lovely arena too.

I had Nicola out to my lightly handled not long gelded 3 year old shetland pony as I was wanting to progress with him away from clicker training and start our journey with liberty.
I cant say enough good things about Nicola, she made me feel at ease as I do easily get nervous around professionals. She asked to see what we could do so far. She was helping me to identify when Billy had shifted focus, something I have found incredibly useful since she could see Billy was nervous around new people which is very normal for a lightly handled pony. At no point did she try to push him beyond his comfort zone, something I really respect her for and something not all trainers do.
I told her Billywas nervous doing anything on his rhs, even me approaching him. We tried and she could see it was too much so she gave me the tools on how to progress. We worked on beginning to yield the hindquarters and forehand, something he picked up quickly. She guided me the whole time on what to do and what to look for. She was very quiet with him and let him come to her, something that alot of trainers dont do.
Since Nicola has been out we have progressed together so quickly. He is fine to do anything on his rhs now. I truely believe that having Nicola out was the turning point for Billy and I. She confirmed my thoughts on the sort of pony he is and what makes him tick.
I cant say enough good things about Nicola. This is clearly more than just a job to her, you can see her passion for helping horses and people to become partners. Her methods are fantastic. There is no learned helplessness tools involved. She truely wants whats best for us both. I am very much looking forward to pregressing with Billy and seeing what our future holds together. Thanks so much Nicola.
